A typical Joseph C. Lincoln novel -- the plot doesn't really matter too much, although a couple of twists are surprising (and amusing). The real fun in these stories is meeting these low-pitch down-east characters on their home ground.Incidentally, if I had to choose a favorite among Lincoln's books, I think it would be the Rise of Roscoe Paine.

Couldn't think of anything not to love about this book! Endearing relate-able characters, a favorite familiar setting, uplifting messages, humor, suspense--it's all there!
Thankful is one of my favorite books. She has a great sense of humor & always looks on the bright side,Even when it dosent look very hopeful she keeps her courage.
I agree with the earlier reviews entirely. It seemed to have a few more plot twists than some of his other books, and it resolved them all before it was done. All I can add -without giving away any of the plot details- is that this might be best read during the month of December.
This is our first eBook purchase. Couldn't be better. Was a 10 second down load. Works just fine. My wife is enjoying it immensely
Loved the character portrayals and surprise ending. Not sure if i would call the charactures believable but they are loveable!
